Breakups in Bollywood – five sad divorces
- Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapoor – Heartthrob of India, Karishma Kapoor shocked her fans when she broke her engagement with Abhishek Bachchan and chose to marry her childhood friend Sunjay Kapoor. No true reason is known for her breakup with Abhishek but the fans thought that maybe she was so much in love with Sunjay Kapoor that she chose him over Abhishek Bachchan. However, this speculation proved to be wrong as soon after the marriage, everything between Karisma and Sunjay was not so good. Both of them started living separately after having a daughter and then again reconciled to give another chance to their relationship but things did not work out. Even after having another child their relationship grew bitter day by day and they finally decided to part ways forever. It is said that Karisma’s brother in law, Saif Ali Khan and her younger sister Kareena Kapoor acted as mediators between the two as Saif had faced similar situation in his own life when he divorced his first wife Amrita Singh. He made the couple realize that there was no point dragging a relationship when it was not working. Karisma and Sunjay have filed for a divorce and their love marriage is seeing an ugly ending as they have to go through the fight for the custody of their two children Samaira and Kian Raj Kapoor.
- Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh – Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh faced all odds to marry each other. Not only Amrita Singh was twelve years older to Saif Ali Khan, she belonged to a different religion too. They went against the will of their parents to unite but as years went by, the love between them disappeared. Their thirteen years long marriage came to an end with a mutual divorce. Even the two kids could not help them bond for lifetime. Saif still shares a good friendly relationship with Amrita and their children were also spotted at the second marriage of Saif with Kareena Kapoor.
- Amir Khan and Reena Dutta – Amir Khan and Reena Dutta had a Hindu-Muslim love marriage at a very young age. They spent fifteen years as a couple before they finally split. The mutual divorce was filed on basis of temperamental differences. However, Amir’s second wife Kiran is also suspected as the real reason behind the divorce. - Hrithik Roshan and Suzzane Khan – Hrithik Roshan gained a lot of appraisal for marrying his first love, Suzzane Khan even after he became a superstar. The couple was one of the hottest and sizzling couples of the Bollywood. Their love and marriage was an ideal for other couples but things started changing when Hrithik allegedly became closer to Barbara Mori, one of the actresses of his movie. Suzzane was seen living in a hotel for some days when the newspapers and magazines were writing about the affair between Hrithik and Barbara however, she hid it from the public by saying that she was living there because her home was being renovated.
