Bollywood marriages have always caught the attention of paparazzi, no matter whether they are low key affairs or examples of big fat Indian weddings. Every minute detail, be it their mehendi design, their wedding joras, their guest list and everything else has a story behind it. There are many people who get inspired by these ideas and if you are amongst them, then you should start from the basics and that is sending out wedding invites in a special and unique way. But be ready to invest a lot of money in them. Here are some famous Bollywood styled wedding invites:
- Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan
It was the wedding of two big shots, one of them being a Bachchan and hence, the wedding invite had to be special. The invitation for this grand event was sent in three golden colored boxes tied together with a red ribbon and the two boxes entwined together with a big “AS’ written on them. The invite was sent in the first box and 24 pieces of mithai made from Swiss chocolate was given in the second while the third box contained an idol of Lord Ganesh. The card has ‘AA’ on top with an image of Lord Ganesh and few shlokas on the second page and a poem by Harivansh Rai Bachchan on the third. The other pages contained all the other details and the parents of both the bride and the groom signed each card.
- Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra
The royal couple chose a square shaped wedding card that was golden in color with a small crest on top having their initials ‘RS’ in top. This card was placed inside a box with the image of Lord Ganesh imprinted in the middle and shlokas written in the flaps of the card. It looked like a booklet and another box containing customized chocolates were also sent along with card. A gold satin ribbon that has a vinyl logo tied the invitation and the box.
- Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva
Real gold and crushed gem stones where used on the wedding card of Vivek Oberoi and Priyanka Alva and hence, was one of the costliest. The first compartment contained chocolates and the second invites for different ceremonies like mehendi, sangeet and reception. Special invitees were sent Ganjifa paintings packed in a box made from velvet. All these were packed in a handmade paper bag and the entire invite was 100% recycled material.
- Imran Khan and Avantika Malik
These childhood sweethearts tied in knot in 2011 and wedding card they sent reflected their playfulness, imaginative and creative side. There were two silver and black boxes with 2011 written in words on them. One of the boxes contained chocolates and the other a pinwheel with a yellow paper having all the details of the ceremony, a year planner dairy and potpourri fragrance. There was also a swipe card for security reasons.
