Happy Mothers day
In a woman’s life, many phases when put together constitute womanhood. There are childhood and teenage, filled with fun and laughter which you could relive every now and then. Adolescence was a good teacher who taught you that you are nothing less than an epitome of both beauty and wisdom. But best of all phases is perhaps motherhood. Maybe it is not even a phase and is more than just an ‘experience’ of a lifetime. It is where you finally start to fulfill the very purpose of her life – to mother another soul.

Even in this prime age of gender equality and woman empowerment whims on career, financial stability, shopping sprees, parlour pampers and many more things may get shut inside the closet once an adorable and loveable creation of yours rest in your arms or reaches out for your little finger. The first squeal, first cycle race, crazy home works and back breaking science projects, the board exams, graduation, wedding and the list goes on. How many times have you played these moments in the back of your mind? A million may be. Would you trade this for anything else in the world? No.

With Mother’s Day round the corner TV screens and social media are flooded with advertisements revolving around the concept – ‘A “day” to Remember Mothers’. Excuse me!! Just one DAY for the most important person in our lives? That is really funny. Not to mention awkward.

Kids plan something lovely for their mothers on this day. An interesting question would be how mothers want to spend the day. Spending more time with family and kids or even partying with ‘mommy’ girlfriends would be a cliché. Want to do something different this mother’s day? This video will show you how.

Your child is the most important thing in the world. Period. But you could also mother a child who is not the flesh of your flesh or the blood of your blood. The innocence of the soul is however the same and you know that. Motherly love is perfect when it is selfless and that’s what the video portrays. Just imagine your little one gets to see, feel or taste a little of you even you are not around only because another mother has promised you to fill your space with an assurance that you would do the same for her little one. How beautiful!! It would be sublime if you could shower a tinge of such love to a motherless angel. Food for thought.

Nobel laureate Gabriela Mistral (1889-1957) of Chile redefines it the most mesmerising way.

“Let me be more mother than the mother herself in my love and defence of the child who is not flesh of my flesh. Help me to make one of my children my most perfect poem and leave within him or her my most melodious melody from that day when my own lips no longer sing.”

On this Mother’s Day don’t let your celebrations last just for a day. With such acts of endless compassion and selfless love let us celebrate Motherhood throughout a lifetime!!
