The beginning of his career :
His first match was against Pakistan in January 2013.In this match, he bowled first 4 initial overs. In November 2013, he played a dream debut against West Indies. He picked up 9 wickets for 118 runs in this match. He made a record by getting highest wickets in a debut test match. He also played in fourth edition of IPL. Shami was selected for both ODI and test matches against South Africa in December 2013.
He performed well in New Zealand test series where he got 16 wickets overall in four test matches including two matches played in south Africa. In ODI’s, his performance was satisfactory. However, he got only two games in 2014’s t20 world cup.Mohit Sharma got his place in team for the rest of the tournament. At 2014 IPL auctions, Delhi bought him for 4.25 crore. He was among the expensive players in that IPL.
A star is born:
He ended 2014 as the highest wicket taker around the globe. His precision and aptitude to break partnerships made him one of the key bowlers for India at 2015 World Cup. He got 17 wickets in this world cup. His balling style creates a pressure on opposition.Unfortunately, he went wickless against Australia. He got a knee injury last year. He was selected for the series against Australia and Sri Lanka but due to his knee injury he couldn’t make up to it. After his recovery, he got two wickets in warm-up match against West Indies(t20 world 2016).
Rohit Sharma commented on his performance as:
“It’s never easy for a fast bowler to come back from a knee injury. He’s worked really hard. It was his first game after the layoff and he did pretty well. He’s worked really hard all this while. He executed the plans really well. He bowled bouncers, Yorkers, slower ones. That’s what we expect from him. He was one of the main bowlers till the last time he played for India. Expectation will be there on him. He worked hard at the nets yesterday, trying to get his rhythm back. He just wanted to go out in the park and play. It’s about to have a feel the conditions. Once he got on, he bowled well with the new ball and did well with the old one.”
In a conclusion, Mohammed Shami is a true asset to India. Due to his hard work and diligence, expectorations are higher from him for the upcoming international cricket event (T20 World Cup 2016).
