Introversion and extroversion are the two extremes of a spectrum and a few of us fall not under the category of either of the extremes but somewhere in-between the two ends, containing within oneself the best and worst of both the worlds of that of an introvert and that of an extrovert, to a certain degree. You know you fall in-between when:

YOU CAN’T DECIDE ON WHETHER TO TERM YOURSELF AN INTROVERT OR AN EXTROVERT
The most common indication of the fact that you fall in-between is when you constantly struggle to decide on whether to classify yourself as an introvert or an extrovert. There are times when you get acquainted with somebody who says that they do not like clubbing too much or being amidst a crowd of unknown people, you comprehend how likeminded you both are, then when they say that they’ve never liked drawing attention towards themselves ever, you realise that you both really aren’t exactly alike.
YOU WANT TO BE BY YOURSELF AS WELL AS WITH OTHERS
You know you’re neither an extrovert nor an introvert when sitting with a book to read, snug in bed in one corner of the room, with soft music playing in the background is your thing but once in a while you get tired of it and that is when you want to call your friends over or go out with them, to chill. It is like a rejuvenating break for you. You get weary of sameness.
YOU ARE A LISTENER BUT AT TIMES YOU DON’T PAY HEED
We are intuitive as individuals just as an introvert. Our friends usually come to us to share with us matters of significance or to seek advice because we possess the patience to listen, understand and empathise. But sometimes it can get really boring and we may want to switch our minds off to other people’s life issues because we are currently not in the space to think deep but have too much of an energy which we feel the need to exhaust and emanate on to others, just like an extrovert would like to, before we get back to our state of isolation.
YOU ARE ADAPTIVE TO ALL KINDS OF PEOPLE
You are comfortable around both an introvert and an extrovert, because you possess certain aspects of both the categories of people. So you will enjoy sitting in the library with an introverted friend talking about the creation of the universe and also go dancing with an outgoing friend to a party and grab some attention.
YOU PARTICIPATE IN AND INTROSPECT CONVERSATIONS WHILE IN A GROUP
You may not be much of a regular talker around a large group of people but you do listen to all that everyone has to say when you are out with them. However, there are times when you do speak and when you do, you can go on talking, and while you converse you will not stop scrutinising and introspecting closely what the other person is saying. You don’t go on talking barring out on what the other person has to say or how they respond to what you say, because you inherit traits of both an extrovert as well as an introvert.
YOU TURN FROM BEING SHY TO THE LIFE OF THE PARTY AFTER A FEW SHOTS OF ALCOHOL
You are out with your extroverted friend to an extravagant social gathering or a shindig and all it takes you, is a superfluous energy, a provocative beat and a number of shots of alcohol to turn you from this shy person who sits in one corner only listening and smiling, into the person who goes to the centre of the floor and starts jiving, gradually being joined by a whole lot of people who get drawn towards you.
It is amazing how you range from being a bit of an introvert to a bit of an extrovert as if akin to the sudden gash of sunlight through the occurrence of an unstoppable shower.
