Drink enough water
You should at least drink 2 Liters of water per day and this is going to help flush out all the toxins from your face and body leaving your skin looking radiant as ever! If you struggle with drinking sufficient water then you should start drinking water in a bigger mug and that is going to motivate you to drink more water. You can also add lemon or ginger in hot water to spice it up a little bit. Adding cucumber or berries in hot water is always a good idea and that would make you feel fresh and healthy.
Also, there are many mobile applications that you can download on your smartphones like Your water intake, Dedryr that not only keep a track of the amount of water you drink every day but also set reminders on your phone per hour to remind you to drink water.
Drink juices and smoothies
In addition to drinking water, you should also drink juices and smoothies. Juices and smoothies keep you hydrated and have a lot of health benefits such as controlling the blood sugar levels, strengthening bones and it is also a great remedy for weight loss!
The best part is that you can use any fruit that you have in your house and make a juice or a smoothie. Fruits help eliminate antioxidants from your body and help make your skin look fresh.
This is an example of a simple smoothie. You will need:
1 chunk of ginger
Blend it all in your mixture till it reaches your desired consistency. And you are done!
Clean your makeup brushes regularly
Another great hack that is extremely simple is cleaning your makeup brushes. You might not notice but your makeup brushes accumulate dirt and bacteria over time. If you use these brushes filled with bacteria on your skin then the bacteria will transfer onto your skin causing you to break out. This is extremely unhealthy for your skin. You can also wash your makeup brushes with baby shampoo.
- Squirt some baby shampoo onto your palm
- swirl the brush in our palm
- finally, wash it with lukewarm water
And you are done! You should ideally wash your makeup brushes every 2 weeks in order to get rid of all the accumulated germs and bacteria. This will leave your skin healthy looking and germ-free!
Use facial oil
All of us have a hard time managing our skin and what many of us do not know is that facial oils can do wonders for the face. Facial oil is basically any plant oil that can be used on the face and body. It helps to keep the skin’s vital hydration locked in since they are highly rich in antioxidants. The right facial oil for you should sink in well with a good facial massage and should not feel heavy on the skin. If it tends to sit on the skin then it is probably too heavy for your skin type and you should opt for a lighter one.
There are many facial oils in the market. Here is a list of the top 5 facial oils:
The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Oil
Aroma Magic Fairy Oil
Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Tailam
Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil
Remove your makeup at night
After a long and tiring day, I know the struggle of removing all the makeup before going to bed. But if you are one of the lazy girls, let me tell you that it is extremely unhealthy if you do not take off all your makeup before going to bed. Firstly your skin ages twice as fast. Secondly, your skin will not be able to shed the dead cells causing pimples, breakouts, and dry skin. So girls take out 5 minutes before sleeping and remove your makeup. You can keep your makeup remover wipes next to your bed so once you are in bed, you can just reach out for the wipes and remove your makeup. It is that simple and easy to maintain your skin and keep it healthy looking.
Change your bed sheets regularly
This might come as a surprise but the bed sheets and pillow covers that we sleep on hold germs and bacteria if not washed for a long period of time. The oil and sweat from our body will transfer onto the bed sheets. This built up oil can cause acne and breakouts. So ideally, one should wash the bedsheets and pillow covers every 3 weeks or once a month to get rid of all the bacteria and germs.
Who knew maintaining healthy looking skin was this easy?
