Delete the Reasons Leaving You Disappointed on the Scale

So you have set a fitness goal and you are working religiously towards it. You are following all the dos and don’ts, keeping the nutrition in point and working out regularly. Even after keeping the discipline of a soldier, when you step on the scale……whack! There is no progress; in fact you have put on weight.  A lot of you must have undergone similar situation or perhaps stuck in it.

Sometimes we unknowingly damage all our efforts that we put in by making some of the silliest mistakes. The unfavorable outcomes are a result of you classifying certain things as healthy when they aren’t. So here are some of the common mistakes that you have been making in your fitness journey.

The Incorrect Grocery Choices

You need to have a very good understanding of the products that you choose as the labels advertised by the companies can be deceiving and tricky. Not everything marked as ‘low fat’ is low calorie. A lot of sugar is added to enhance the flavor of food items. Intake of such food items shoots up your blood sugar levels making you hungrier. Checking the amount of oil used for cooking the veggies also goes unnoted which adds up to the extra kilos.

Liquid Calorie Ignorance

Common Fitness Mistakes

Ignorance is not a bliss when it comes to paying attention towards the liquid items you intake. Alcohol is calorie overloaded and those little amount cocktails you consume casually during weddings and parties can go up to 500 calories per glass. Your regular exercising regime may not be enough to burn all those extra calories. Therefore, you should not only keep a track of what you are eating but also of what you are drinking.

Dehydration

The adequate consumption of water a day is 2-3 litres of water a day.  Keeping yourself hydrated is one of the key factors to loose extra weight and people normally miss out on this. The dehydration that you cause to your body leads to the storage of extra body fat. In order to lose weight, you must drink 2-3 litres of water every day.

People tend to munch fatty foods when they are watching a film or their favorite television programs. The unconscious indulgence in snacking suddenly leads to your withdrawal from all the portion control eating and calorie counting.  Reports have said that this leads to 10% more calorie consumption in one session and 25% over the course of the day.  Watching cooking shows also leads to temptations and also boosts your appetite even if you are not really hungry.

The Guilt-free Compensation

Common Fitness Mistakes

You are eating a nutritious and healthy diet with good carbs, lean protein, and healthy fats. Additional, you have incorporated working out and exercising regularly- something you haven’t done before. So now you have also started to eat that extra pudding or that fries without any guilt, thinking that it is an almost negligible amount of consumption that won’t appear anywhere in your body with your health routine  being intact. Hence, the weighing scale gives you a shock. Those fries and pudding actually add up to a significant amount of calories giving you a not so good looking reality.

So now since you know where you have been going wrong and why the scale has been disappointing you, give yourself a pat on the back for at least embarking upon fitness and start afresh.  Make sure you do not make these mistakes again so that there will be no reason why you won’t get results. Always remember that taking the first step is the biggest step of all.
