Do you have the feeling that your boyfriend or husband could be unfaithful? Just the suspicion that you might be cheated on can be hard to take, especially since the not really knowing leaves you in limbo and unable to move forward with your life one way or the other. You could just ask, but he could very well lie about it. And what if you’re wrong?
It is a smart idea to get some real evidence before questioning your man and putting your relationship in jeopardy. Here are a few ways you can do so:
Keep an Eye on His Social Media Activities
It is illegal to access your husband or boyfriend’s social media accounts without their knowledge; that would be an invasion of privacy. But, even if they try to hide things, you can still find out a lot about what they’ve been up to based on everyday interactions on Facebook, Twitter and other social platforms.
Has your man been tagged in pictures with people you don’t recognize? Was he actually out somewhere he said he never went? Are there questionable comments that he or someone else have been leaving on posts?
Verify Unknown Phone Numbers
You should not go through your partner’s phone. But if you see an unknown phone number coming up multiple times, there’s nothing stopping you from noting that number and looking it up to see who the person behind it might be.
With an online reverse phone lookup, you simply enter in the full phone number, and the database will pull up all available public records information associated with it. This includes the owner’s name, where they’re located, and other contact information. Knowing who’s behind all the calls or texts can go a long way toward proving your suspicions.
Talk to His Friends
If your husband or boyfriend has been cheating on you, odds are he has confessed it to at least one of his friends or relatives. Just coming out and asking them won’t work, of course—it will just put people on the defensive, and they could tell your man what you’ve been up to. The best approach is to make his friends your friends.
It won’t necessarily be easy to get this confidante to admit anything to you, and it will likely take some time. But many people will feel guilty knowing such things, especially if they start to feel close to you as well. Before you know it, they’ll spill the info you need to know. (Or not…it may not be true, after all!)
With evidence like this in hand, then you can know better if your cheating suspicions are founded or not. And you can decide if you have proof enough to finally confront your partner directly.
