You have tried them all. Scrub, prime, drinking liters of water, exercise etc. yet the acne and scars on your face are oblivious to your skin routine. They don’t seem to mind any of it. They stand stubbornly in your face making you feel less confident.

Although you have a dozen or so good habits, there are a few you perform unintentionally that are ruining your skin.

  • Chewing gum

Oh yes! Chewing gum is actually deemed as a bad habit especially if you are working out on your wrinkles. It causes wrinkles around your mouth, making you look old.

  • Sipping from a straw

Sipping your drink from a straw can create fine lines similar to those created by smoking. Drinking from a straw occasionally is not a problem but doing it often will take a toll on your skin.

  • Licking lips

Licking your lips will not moisturize it but do the opposite. Dry lips are not comfortable but licking it will make it even more drier. At the end of the day, you will have dry, chapped and shabby lips.

  • Neglected neck

The skin of your neck and your chest is equally delicate as the skin of your face. Do you notice the difference between the tone of your face skin and neck skin? That is because the neck is ignored while all the attention is paid only to the face. If you are using a sunscreen or an anti-aging product on your face, use it on your neck as well.

  • Blow drying

One of the reasons for breakage of capillaries is blow drying. Extreme heat from the blow dryer can permanently damage the skin.

  • Wrong posture

Resting your chin on your hand can cause sagging. Supporting your face with your hand will also do the same. So if you don’t want fine lines, wrinkles and sagging, practice good posture.

  • Not steering off makeup while workout

When you are going to the gym for a workout, clean your face. Steer clear of the makeup if you want to avoid clogged pores. The reason is, when we workout, we sweat. Sweating opens up pores and when there’s a layer of makeup on your skin with dirt and bacteria, it all gets mixed up causing acne.

  • Over exfoliation

If you want a flaking skin, go for over exfoliation. Exfoliating the skin one to two times a week is wonderful but more than it will cause irritation and sensitivity.

  • Eating the wrong way

And finally, you are what you eat. We all know the wonders of eating healthy greens. If you don’t, you are missing out on a beautiful skin.

  • Popping pimples

Picking on your pimples will cause a number of adverse effects. First, hyperpigmentation : darkening of your skin that no makeup will be able to hide. Second, rupture of your skin that will cause scarring. Third, more and more breakouts leading to a cycle of breakouts that will never stop.
