There lived a woman with her three children somewhere in the Sidhi District of Madhya Pradesh. Her husband worked 700 miles away from home in Nashik, Maharashtra. Circumstances demanded her to live under the same roof with her brother in law. Things were going on fine when one day evil overhauled her brother in law. He attempted to rape her. She was beaten, injured and sexually assaulted.
Nothing could stop the man so she caught hold of a sickle lying at arm’s distance and chopped the man’s penis. She hurried to the police station with the penis and reported the incident to them. Policemen were appalled. They tried to send medical support to the man but it was too late. The man had committed suicide. He was found hanging from a tree adjoining their house. The woman has been charged with attempted murder!
Since the Nirbhaya rape incident in 2012, instances of rape has got a lot of coverage. Yet there’s no end to this heinous crime, it’s been increasing ever since.
