Sagging breasts - what can you do about them?

It is said that the breasts are the true symbol of a woman’s beauty and femininity. Sagging of breasts can be due to many natural and also unnatural reasons like ageing, drinking alcohol, smoking, pregnancy and even over-exercising. While the natural causes cannot be avoided, there are surely ways to prevent the unnatural sagging of the breasts.

  • Wear properly fitted bra

Gravity affects your breasts the most as compared to other parts of your body. Wearing ill-fitted bra is one of the most common reason behind breast sagging. It is essential that you know your breast size and the cup size and wear bras that fit you perfect to prevent sagging and also improve your overall appearance. Your breasts should not be bouncy and spilling out after wearing a bra. Tighten the straps or replace the bra, if the straps become loose. If you are unsure about your size, then consult a professional and have them measured properly.

  • Massage

Massage your breasts daily with some moisturizer to keep the skin soft and supple and help the breasts maintain their elasticity. Just massage your breasts gently in circular motion clockwise and anti-clockwise for about 10 minutes every day. This will improve the blood circulation in the tissues present in the breasts and hence, keep them soft and elastic. You can even use aloe vera gel, almond oil or any other vegetable oil.

A balanced diet and regular exercise can help you to maintain a steady weight. Weight fluctuations result in stretching of the skin tissues and this affects the elasticity of the breasts in a bad way by enhancing the tension between the connective tissues present in the breasts. It is important that you stick to your recommended weight and maintain a steady BMI to avoid breast sagging. This would prevent many other health problems.

  • Extensive exercise

Too much of anything is bad and the same goes for exercising as well. Excessive running can be really bad for the elasticity of your breasts and this can be more prominent, if you have large breasts. The weight of large breasts can damage the connective tissue and ligaments present in the breasts. Make sure that you wear a proper sports bra while jogging or doing any other kind of exercise. Maintain a correct fitness routine to keep your breasts firm and do not include too much of jogging in that. Push-ups and chest presses can help.

I was very young when I realized that there was a hidden passion for writing in me and I unveiled it through my school magazine for the very first time and there has been no looking back since then. Though construction contributes more in running my world, writing is something that completes me.”
